
New Delhi, March 26: The Dwarka police have achieved a significant success by apprehending a declared fugitive who was evading trial. The special team of Dwarka police arrested the accused, Sunil, who had been declared a proclaimed offender by the JMFC-07, Southwest/Dwarka Court in Delhi in connection with an FIR registered at the Firoz Shah Nagar police station on August 27, 2024. Sunil already had two cases against him and had been continuously avoiding judicial proceedings.
Under the guidance of DCP Kushal Pal Singh, a special operation against proclaimed offenders was initiated. A dedicated team was formed under the overall leadership of ACP/Operations, led by Inspector Harish Kumar. This team included ASI Omprakash, HC Kulwant Singh, HC Ajit, and Constables Ankur Tomar and Jaideep. Their objective was to swiftly identify and arrest active criminals and recently released convicts.
On March 23, while in the Najafgarh area, Constable Ankur received information that Sunil was roaming in the vicinity. He was evading trial in a case registered at PS BHD Nagar and had been declared a criminal by the Dwarka Court. Upon receiving this tip-off, the team promptly reached the Khaira Mor Tempo Stand and, with the help of an informant, apprehended Sunil. He was immediately arrested, and a case was registered under Section 35.1(D) BNSSS at PS BHD Nagar.
The operation utilized both technical and local intelligence. The team tracked Sunil’s location based on confidential sources and on-ground information.
Sunil, a 32-year-old resident of Gali No. 2, East Krishna Vihar, Gopal Nagar, Phase-2, Delhi, is now in police custody.
