Pune, May 17: In Pune district, an accused individual, who is under a district ban, created a significant disturbance and clashed with the police. The accused attempted to obstruct government operations, prompting the police to file a case against him.
According to sources, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Revannath Labde, had banned the accused from entering Pune, Solapur, Satara, and Ahilyanagar districts for one year under Section 56 of the Mumbai Police Act, 1951. This ban means he was prohibited from entering the restricted area.
Despite this, the accused attempted to enter the restricted zone, leading to the police’s attempt to detain him. During this process, he did not hesitate to behave rudely towards the officers. Consequently, the police decided to take strict action and registered a case. Havaldar Bhosale is currently investigating the matter, while Head Constable Makhe has filed the complaint against the accused.
The complainant, Nikhil Balasaheb Jadhav, reported that the incident occurred along the old vegetable market road leading from Pushpalakshmi Hospital to Borawakenagar in the Sarpanchvasti area, where the accused caused significant chaos. Initially, the police advised the accused to refrain from entering the restricted area, but when he refused to comply, they decided to detain him, resulting in a scuffle.
When an accused individual repeatedly commits various criminal acts in a specific area, causing ongoing issues for local residents, the district administration may prohibit that individual from entering that area. This ban typically lasts for six months to a year, providing some relief to the community. This entire process is known as a district ban.
