Bhopal, August 8: Sunday will be a significant day for air travel in Madhya Pradesh. The state will see the launch of four new direct flights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will inaugurate these services at an event at Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal.
Union Minister of Civil Aviation, K. Ram Mohan Naidu, will also be present at the ceremony. The new routes include Bhopal-Rewa, Bhopal-Patna, Rewa-Kolkata, and Jabalpur-Kolkata.
During the event, Chief Minister Yadav will flag off the inaugural flight from Bhopal to Rewa. This initiative aims to enhance both internal and inter-state air connectivity in the region. The new services will be operated by Alliance Air, with financial support provided under the Madhya Pradesh Civil Aviation Policy. The state government will offer up to ₹10 lakh in viability gap funding for each round trip.
The state government continues to prioritize the expansion of air connectivity. Through the Madhya Pradesh Civil Aviation Policy-2025, efforts are underway to connect various cities in the state with major destinations across the country, ensuring citizens have access to convenient, safe, and timely travel options.
So far, eight new air routes have been approved under this policy. Four of these routes are already operational, while services on the newly launched routes are set to begin soon. Previously initiated routes include Rewa-Delhi, Rewa-Indore, Rewa-Raipur, and Indore-Abu Dhabi.
