Bhopal, April 9: Wheat procurement in Madhya Pradesh is set to commence on April 9. This season, there has been a significant increase in farmer participation, with 1,904,644 farmers registered across the state. This number is notably higher compared to the previous 2025-26 season.
To streamline the procurement process, the state government has established 3,627 procurement centers. The central government has set the minimum support price (MSP) at ₹2,585 per quintal. Additionally, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced an extra bonus of ₹40 per quintal, raising the effective procurement price to ₹2,625 per quintal.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reviewed the preparations and assured robust arrangements for this season. A sufficient stock of jute bags has been secured, and the government has set up help desks at all procurement centers, along with district-level control rooms. The entire process will be closely monitored through a special control room established in the Chief Minister’s office.
Chief Minister Yadav stated that they aim to increase the price to ₹2,700 per quintal. He reiterated the government’s long-term commitment to ensuring farmers receive a profitable price for their produce. He emphasized that ensuring fair prices for farmers is a firm commitment of his administration.
He added that their goal is to serve the public, and with this in mind, excellent arrangements have been made for wheat procurement at designated centers. As part of the ‘Kisan Kalyan Varsh’ (Farmer Welfare Year) 2026, farmers visiting the procurement centers will also receive information about various welfare schemes through pamphlets, hoardings, and direct outreach efforts.
