Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Urges Departments to Set Action Plans and Goals

Bhopal, April 9: In a bid to accelerate development in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain convened a meeting with department heads. He instructed them to formulate action plans and set targets for the current financial year.

During the review of departmental plans at the Secretariat, Jain emphasized that all heads must submit their action plans and goals for the financial year 2026-27 by April 15.

Jain urged officials to present significant achievements from the past two and a half years, along with important tasks planned for the upcoming year, within a week. He inquired about pending cases related to the Public Service Guarantee and CM Helpline, directing officials to conduct weekly reviews to ensure satisfactory resolutions.

He also stressed the need for clear target-setting for the upcoming financial year. Jain reviewed the current status of amendments, repeals, and the introduction of new acts concerning laws established before 1947. He set a deadline of May 31 for department heads to prioritize and complete this work, allowing for necessary approvals from the Council of Ministers.

The meeting included a status review of the Action Plan-2028. Jain noted significant progress in women’s empowerment initiatives in the state and called for extensive publicity to bring these efforts to the public’s attention. He suggested launching campaigns to showcase successful women’s stories. Jain also reviewed the activities of all stakeholders involved in the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign and instructed that progress reports from all relevant departments be standardized.

Considering the upcoming summer season, he urged continuous action to ensure easy access to drinking water. Jain instructed that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new handpump drilling be issued within a day or two. The meeting revealed that necessary materials, including riser pipes, have been provided to districts as needed. Additionally, Jain called for planning to prevent fire accidents and improve rescue operations in rural areas.
