
Bhopal, May 5: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved development projects worth over ₹38,000 crore during its recent meeting. The decision also includes the establishment of the State Traders Welfare Board.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday at the Secretariat provided significant financial approvals amounting to ₹38,555 crore for the comprehensive development and welfare of the people in Madhya Pradesh. Among the key decisions, ₹32,405 crore has been allocated for road construction, upgrading rural roads, and maintaining government housing for the 16th Finance Commission period (2026-2031).
To strengthen the agricultural sector, the Cabinet approved the “Self-Reliance Mission in Pulses,” which will invest ₹2,442.04 crore over the next five years to boost pulse production. Additionally, ₹2,412 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of new Anganwadi centers and the smooth operation of the “Mission Vatsalya” under the Women and Child Development department. The IT and electronics manufacturing sector will receive ₹1,295.52 crore.
To promote economic activities, the Cabinet made a significant decision to form the State Traders Welfare Board, which will serve as a robust platform for addressing traders’ issues promptly and facilitating direct communication with the government.
This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing the state’s economy and ensuring inclusive development. The Cabinet has approved ₹2,442.04 crore for the continuity of the Self-Reliance Mission in Pulses for the next five years, from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031. The Department of Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development has been authorized to issue necessary rules and guidelines for the implementation of the scheme.
