Macron Wishes Modi a Happy Holi, Prime Minister Expresses Gratitude

New Delhi, March 5: French President Emmanuel Macron extended warm wishes for Holi to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing the strong friendship between the two nations. In response, PM Modi expressed his gratitude in a heartfelt manner.

President Macron shared his message on the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “Happy Holi, my friend!” This greeting coincided with the vibrant and joyful celebrations of Holi, a major festival in India.

Prime Minister Modi promptly replied with enthusiasm, posting on ‘X’, “Thank you very much, my friend! Wishing you and the people of France abundant happiness and prosperity on this auspicious occasion of Holi.” Modi’s address to Macron as “my friend” reflects the deep personal and diplomatic bond between the two leaders.

This exchange symbolizes the longstanding partnership between India and France. The two countries collaborate closely in various sectors, including defense, space, environment, trade, and cultural exchanges. In recent years, PM Modi and President Macron have held several high-level meetings, emphasizing the strengthening of their strategic partnership.

Macron has previously sent greetings for Indian festivals like Diwali and Holi, while PM Modi has reciprocated with wishes for Bastille Day and other French occasions.

Holi, known as the festival of colors, marks the arrival of spring and symbolizes the victory of good over evil in India.
