Beijing, March 13: This year, China’s government work report has frequently highlighted achievements in the aerospace sector. The draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan also lists aerospace as a strategic emerging industry group.
Liu Yang, a representative of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and China’s first female astronaut, holds strong views on this matter.
She stated that the aerospace industry is becoming a crucial engine for generating new productivity and promoting high-quality development. Liu suggested that to fully unleash the potential of aerospace innovation, efforts should be made across several aspects, including industry, technology, and talent.
During this NPC session, Liu Yang proposed accelerating the construction and application of ground research facilities for survival in outer space. She discussed its significance, developmental direction, feasibility, and systemic support. In her opinion, the “spring of space science” has arrived. The advancement of space science not only lays the foundation for humanity’s further exploration of the universe but is also closely linked to our daily lives.
