Lisa Ray Shares Insights on Poetry and Life Amidst Uncertainty

Mumbai, March 13: Canadian-Indian actress Lisa Ray frequently expresses her views on various issues through social media. On Friday, she revealed that she is currently working on a book of her upcoming poems.

The actress shared a note on her official Instagram account, explaining that she has created a peaceful space on social media to share her poetry. She stated, “Words have always been my support. When life feels tangled, only language provides me with solid ground. I am gradually working on a book of poems, and it feels like the right time to share this part of myself with everyone.”

She further noted that in darkness, people sing songs, create art, and use language to manage burdens that can be difficult to bear alone. Lisa expressed, “Watching recent events in my second home, Dubai, has been very challenging. While UAE citizens are relatively safe and the leadership is sound, the uncertainty, messages from friends, and the collective holding of breath is quite heavy.”

In her post, Lisa also shared a poem that came to her mind early in the morning. She mentioned that she shared it on her social media account without any changes. This poem is particularly dedicated to those living in unstable conditions.

Lisa wrote, “My husband was raised in Lebanon, where missiles frequently fell from above. This poem is for his courage, the resilience of families, and for all those around the world whose normal lives have always included the sound of sirens.”

She shared a poignant line from the poem: “When you reach for the petals and the head disappears.” This line is inspired by her sister’s upcoming novel, ‘The First House.’ Lisa emphasized, “Art connects us, and we draw courage from each other’s words.”

In conclusion, she conveyed a message: “If times are filled with uncertainties, respond with creation, respond with empathy, and raise your voice.”

Lisa Ray announced that her poetry book will be released soon. She urged people to pre-order it, expressing her belief that it will be one of the most talked-about books of the year.
