LG Tarunjeet Singh Sandhu Discusses Developed Delhi 2047 with PM Modi

New Delhi, March 20: Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Tarunjeet Singh Sandhu met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday to share insights on the vision for ‘Developed Delhi 2047.’

An official familiar with the discussions revealed that LG Sandhu presented his experiences at Lok Niwas to the Prime Minister. He also provided details about the plans established to realize PM Modi’s vision for a developed Delhi by 2047.

In a message on the social media platform X, Sandhu wrote, “I met Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning.”

On March 13, Sandhu had a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu to discuss issues related to the national capital. In another post on X, he expressed his honor in receiving guidance for the journey ahead from President Murmu, stating, “I am grateful for her encouragement.”

Earlier, LG Sandhu shared his experience of enjoying spring flowers at Amrit Udyan, located within the President’s estate. Posting a picture taken in the estate’s famous lawn, he noted, “It was delightful to stroll through the renowned gardens of the President’s residence this morning. I also enjoyed meeting many Delhi residents appreciating the spring flowers.”

Sandhu reviewed the security, cleanliness, and health situation with officials. After a meeting with Health Secretary Rupesh Kumar Thakur and Additional Chief Secretary Prashant Goyal from the Food and Civil Supplies department, he emphasized the need for “preparation, coordination, and effective response” on X.

Throughout the day, the Delhi Police Commissioner and the Municipal Commissioner also welcomed the LG.

Sandhu, who assumed office as Delhi’s new Lieutenant Governor on March 11, had earlier this week engaged in discussions with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her cabinet colleagues.

In these meetings, he addressed development and security issues with officials. Lok Niwas shared on X that “Chief Minister Rekha Gupta of Delhi met with LG Tarunjeet Singh Sandhu along with her cabinet colleagues. They informed the LG about ongoing initiatives to create a ‘Developed Delhi.’”

The statement from Lok Niwas further highlighted that the Lieutenant Governor underscored the collective resolve to develop Delhi as a global capital in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, addressing key challenges and opportunities.
