Leadership Change at CINTAA Prioritizes Accountability and Member Engagement

CINTAAs new leadership emphasizes accountability and member participation following recent elections in Mumbai.

Mumbai, October 20 (Daily Kiran) : Recent developments within the Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA) have brought its internal operations and electoral processes into the spotlight. The newly elected leadership has stressed the importance of adhering to the organization’s constitution and enhancing accountability among its members.

Discussing the elections, the CINTAA president noted that they were held ahead of schedule, attributing this decision to pressing circumstances that necessitated action. “Unfortunately, we were compelled to conduct these elections. Otherwise, they were slated for May 2027 during our annual general meeting,” he explained.

This decision followed a growing sentiment among members, who raised concerns and urged the leadership to take decisive action. The president highlighted two key initiatives launched during his tenure: ensuring that every elected member receives a copy of the CINTAA constitution and establishing an oath-taking ceremony for new members.

“It is essential that every elected individual possesses a copy of the constitution and understands its provisions. Knowledge of the rules and regulations is paramount,” he emphasized. He expressed hope that this practice would continue in the coming years, ensuring that each new member is well-versed in the organization’s framework.

The recent oath-taking ceremony marked a significant moment, as newly elected members pledged to uphold the constitution, maintain fairness, and work for the welfare of the organization and its members. “This ceremony was a commitment to our responsibilities,” he remarked.

The elections also saw an encouraging turnout, with approximately 670 members participating, which was particularly noteworthy given that the voting took place during a festive holiday. Despite the challenges of the holiday season, many members made the effort to vote, demonstrating their commitment to the association.

The president expressed his satisfaction with the high level of participation, indicating that it reflects a positive outlook for CINTAA’s current status and the willingness of members to engage in the organization’s future.
