Launch of Chinese Film Silk Road Cinematic Light and Shadow Screening and Promotion Event

Beijing, August 13: The official launch of the overseas screening and promotion event for the Chinese film ‘Silk Road Cinematic Light and Shadow’ took place at the Alatau Cinema in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

The event was attended by around 300 representatives from cultural, media, expatriate Chinese, and youth student communities from both China and Kyrgyzstan. Key attendees included Li Hua, Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan; Taarantek Tolobekov, Director of the Film Department at the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan; Wang Lu, Director of the Film and Television Translation and Production Center of China Media Group; and Wang Bin, Director of the Asia-Europe Station of China Media Group.

Li Hua emphasized the deep-rooted friendship between China and Kyrgyzstan, which is intertwined with mountains and rivers. The ancient Silk Road has facilitated over 2,000 years of friendly exchanges between the two nations. He noted that the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative has further accelerated comprehensive cooperation between them.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), with Kyrgyzstan serving as the current chair country and hosting the SCO summit. It is believed that this film screening event will play a positive role in promoting film and cultural exchanges within the SCO framework, thereby building a bridge of mutual understanding and friendship between the people of China and Kyrgyzstan.
