Kuwait, May 10: The Kuwaiti Defense Ministry reported that multiple drones were spotted in its airspace on Sunday morning. The ministry stated that these drones were neutralized with utmost caution, although it did not specify the origin of the enemy drones.
Brigadier General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, the official spokesperson for the ministry, announced on the social platform X that the military detected several enemy drones in Kuwaiti airspace and dealt with them according to established protocols. The military remains committed to ensuring the safety of the nation, its citizens, and residents.
This announcement comes amid reports of a drone attack on a cargo ship in Qatar’s maritime territory. The UK Maritime Trade Operations agency had previously claimed that the attack occurred northeast of Doha in the morning. Following this, Qatar confirmed that a cargo ship in its waters was indeed targeted by a drone on Sunday.
The Defense Ministry revealed that the ship was arriving from Abu Dhabi. Although the vessel caught fire after the attack, the situation was quickly brought under control. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or casualties. According to the ministry, after extinguishing the fire, the ship continued its journey towards the Mesaieed port.
Additionally, a warning from an Iranian military spokesperson has made headlines. He stated that countries enforcing U.S. sanctions on Iran may face difficulties navigating the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Tasnim News Agency, Brigadier General Akrami Nia asserted that the enemy has failed to achieve any of its objectives in the ongoing conflict, and Iran’s political system remains intact. On the contrary, the people of Iran are united.
Nia emphasized that the enemy understands it cannot break Iran’s resilience, leading to a necessary acceptance of a ceasefire. He also noted that during the ongoing ceasefire, Iran has strengthened its military capabilities and power.
