Kuwait and Bahrain Condemn Irans Recent Attacks as Violations of Sovereignty

Kuwait City, June 6: Kuwait and Bahrain have strongly condemned recent attacks by Iran on Saturday, labeling them as blatant violations of sovereignty and a threat to regional stability.

Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry expressed on the social media platform X that these attacks are clear infringements on Kuwait’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. They also violate international law, the UN Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817.

According to Xinhua, the ministry stated that the ongoing attacks signify a dangerous escalation at a time when global efforts are focused on preventing a larger regional conflict. Such attacks cannot be justified or accepted under any pretext.

Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry echoed these sentiments in a statement, asserting that the attacks jeopardize the security and stability of the Gulf region.

Bahrain has urged Iran to cease its assaults, fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz without restrictions, and respect the freedom of maritime navigation under international law.

Earlier on Saturday, both Kuwait and Bahrain announced a halt to missile and drone attacks, while Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed strikes on the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain, retaliating for previous American attacks on the Kish Island and Sirik County in southern Iran.

The IRGC declared missile and drone strikes on these two American bases in Kuwait and Bahrain were in response to the U.S. attacks on their communication tower on Kish Island.

In a statement to their official news outlet Sepah, the IRGC confirmed the attacks on the Ali Al Salem Air Base and the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain.

Local reports indicated that at 1:30 AM Saturday (10:00 PM GMT Friday), four oil tankers attempted to illegally exit the Strait of Hormuz under U.S. military direction, ignoring repeated warnings from the IRGC Navy.

It was reported that after the warning, one oil tanker was targeted, while the remaining vessels returned. Following the confrontation, an American drone attacked communication towers in Kish Island and Sirik County at 2:30 AM local time (11:00 PM GMT Friday).

In response, the IRGC’s aerospace division promptly launched ballistic missiles at the Ali Al Salem Air Base and other critical locations at the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters. The U.S. Central Command later posted on X that American forces had attacked some Iranian radar sites on Friday.
