Kishan and Premlal Crowned Champions at National Tenpin Bowling Championship

Bengaluru, March 16: Former national champion Kishan R. from Karnataka clinched his second national title in the men’s category at the 34th National Tenpin Bowling Championship held at Amoeba on Church Street in Bengaluru.

In the women’s category, Premlal J. from Karnataka secured her first national title, ending a 15-year wait for the state in this division.

The championship matches were played based on total pinfall over two games. Top-seed Kishan showcased a steady performance, gaining a 17-pin lead in the first game (208–191). He further increased his advantage in the second game, scoring 244 against Akash’s 238, ultimately winning the title by a margin of 23 pins (452–429).

Earlier in the day, in the men’s category’s stepladder round, third-seed Akash Ashok Kumar (358) defeated fourth-seed Shanmugananda (308) by 50 pins. Akash continued his impressive form, scoring 476 to beat second-seed Dhruv Sarda (374) by 102 pins, securing his place in the finals.

In the championship match, fourth-seed Premlal J. gained an early lead against top-seed Sabina Athika from Tamil Nadu, scoring 188 compared to Sabina’s 168 in the first game. The second game was closely contested, but Premlal maintained her composure, winning by a margin of 24 pins (332–308) to claim her first national title.

Earlier in the day, in the women’s stepladder round, fourth-seed Premlal (357) defeated third-seed Shabeena Kasmani from Maharashtra (338) by 19 pins. She then overcame second-seed Anukriti Bishnoi from Haryana with a score of 422-409, advancing to the finals with a 13-pin lead.
