Rudraprayag, April 25: The Kedarnath pilgrimage is set to commence, and local authorities are fully prepared. District Magistrate Vishal Mishra and Superintendent of Police Niharika Tomar conducted a joint inspection of the shrine area to assess the arrangements. They also made an unannounced visit to the helipad to review the helicopter services and the flow of pilgrims.
Superintendent of Police Niharika Tomar reported that adequate police forces, PAC, and central paramilitary units are deployed at the shrine. Additionally, teams from SDRF, NDRF, fire services, ATS, and BDS are on high alert, conducting monitoring and checking operations. During the inspection, officials engaged with pilgrims to gather feedback, which was met with satisfaction from the visitors.
In a recent incident, a fake donation box was discovered in the temple complex and was promptly seized through the BKTC. This action sends a clear message from the administration that any form of fraud related to faith will not be tolerated. The authorities emphasized that they are continuously improving the arrangements along the pilgrimage route and within the shrine area to ensure a safe and smooth experience for the devotees.
District Magistrate Vishal Mishra noted that cleanliness measures were observed during the helipad inspection. Instructions were given to increase the presence of female police personnel. Suggestions received from the pilgrims are being implemented to enhance their experience.
Superintendent of Police Tomar mentioned that the doors of the Kedarnath shrine opened on April 22 at 8 AM, with a sufficient number of police personnel deployed. On the first day, 38,000 devotees visited the shrine, and over 25,000 followed on the second day. Continuous inspections by police and administration are ongoing to maintain safety and order.
