
Bhopal, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : The Kalidas Festival in Madhya Pradesh is scheduled for November 21 to 27. The central committee has finalized the event’s programs, ensuring a rich cultural experience.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who also chairs the festival’s central committee, emphasized the importance of connecting the festival with renowned poets and writers such as Pradeep, Krishan Saral, Shivmangal Singh Suman, and Sharad Joshi. He highlighted the need to provide opportunities for senior artists and directors in the performing arts, while also prioritizing youth involvement in the festival’s activities.
Yadav described the Kalidas Festival as a prestigious event, aimed at showcasing the state’s talents. He urged for arrangements that would allow participants to engage in various online and offline art competitions. The festival will also include contributions from Ekathma Dham Omkareshwar, as well as participation from music schools and universities.
The Chief Minister reviewed the program outline for the week-long festival, noting the inclusion of representatives from regional dialects and languages. He requested that a police band perform during the festivities and directed that all necessary arrangements be made for the events.
Additional details were provided by Additional Chief Secretary Shivshekhar Shukla, who noted that a ceremonial procession and cultural presentation would take place on November 20, preceding the festival. The inauguration on November 21 will feature a national exhibition of painting and sculpture, along with cultural performances by renowned classical musicians.
The festival’s schedule includes a national research seminar and a memorial lecture for Pandit Suryanarayan Vyas on November 22, a lecture honoring the great poet Kalidas on November 23, a presentation of Sanskrit plays and a memorial lecture for Padma Shri Vakankar on November 24, and a gathering of saints on November 26. The festival will conclude on November 27 with a cultural presentation and award distribution ceremony.
