Jaipur, August 9: Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda participated in a flag march in Jaipur on Sunday. This event was part of the pre-Independence Day celebrations, where he paid tribute to martyrs and met with freedom fighters.
Nadda offered his respects at the Amar Jawan Jyoti memorial, honoring the immortal martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice for the defense of the motherland. Later, he met with senior military officials at the state BJP office and visited the residence of Praveen Chand Chhabra, a former senior BJP leader and freedom fighter, to honor him.
In Jaipur, he flagged off ten new blood collection and transport buses aimed at strengthening the state’s blood collection system.
Alongside Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, state BJP President Madaan Rathore, Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, state in-charge Radha Mohan Das Agrawal, and other senior leaders, Nadda addressed the flag march from Albert Hall to Badi Chaupar.
Starting with the slogan “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” Nadda described Rajasthan as the land of brave heroes and nation-builders. He emphasized that the tricolor was achieved through the blood, sweat, and sacrifices of millions of Indians.
He stated that this march serves as an opportunity to pay homage to patriots and draw inspiration from their sacrifices. Referring to India as the “mother of democracy,” he stressed that the flag march is an expression of emotions that guides 1.4 billion Indians towards patriotism and complete dedication to the nation.
Recalling the history of the national flag, Nadda noted that India officially adopted the tricolor on July 22, 1947. He elaborated on its evolution from the flag of the Swadeshi movement in 1906 to the design presented to Mahatma Gandhi by Pingali Venkayya in 1921, culminating in the final form featuring the Ashoka Chakra in 1947.
He explained that the saffron color symbolizes courage and sacrifice, white represents truth and peace, and green signifies prosperity. The Ashoka Chakra stands for continuous progress.
Nadda credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for transforming the tricolor from a government symbol into a people’s movement through the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign during the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” in 2022. Since then, millions of flags have been hoisted across the country.
