Bhopal, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : Congress leader Jitu Patwari has raised concerns about the lack of coordination between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organization and the state government in Madhya Pradesh. During a press conference in Bhopal, he posed several questions regarding the government’s handling of crime and corruption, coinciding with the visit of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.
Patwari stated that the relationship between the BJP’s state organization and the government is severely lacking. He criticized Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for not responding to calls from his ministers for as long as 15 days, highlighting that this negligence has led to dire consequences, including the tragic deaths of children due to departmental failures. He pointed out the recent incident in Chhindwara, where 26 children died after consuming contaminated cough syrup, questioning who would be held politically accountable for such tragedies. Furthermore, he mentioned over 100 deaths attributed to toxic alcohol consumption, demanding to know the responsibility of the Excise Minister in these cases.
The Congress president emphasized rampant corruption in welfare schemes aimed at tribal communities, noting that despite the BJP’s 25 years in power, child malnutrition remains a significant issue in the state. He asked which minister should be held politically accountable for these failures, urging the Union Home Minister to address these concerns on behalf of the people of Madhya Pradesh.
Patwari also referenced the recent deaths of 36 individuals in Indore due to contaminated water, again questioning the political responsibility for these incidents. He asserted that corruption is like a cancer affecting every household in the state, and citizens deserve to know where the looted funds are going. His comments followed a recent visit by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to Balaghat, where he met families who lost children to malnutrition-related illnesses and accused the government of failing to provide benefits to tribal communities.
