Gaya, February 15: Jitan Ram Manjhi, a central minister and leader of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), has sharply criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi‘s claims that the India-US deal is a betrayal of Indian farmers. Manjhi responded to Gandhi’s statements during a recent event, asserting that the deal is actually beneficial for the majority of people.
Manjhi stated that the opposition is misrepresenting the deal, which he believes will positively impact millions of farmers. He expressed frustration with Gandhi, suggesting that the Congress leader’s understanding of the issue is flawed.
During a media interaction, Manjhi remarked, “Last night, while discussing this matter, I realized that Rahul Gandhi‘s perspective is completely upside down.” He emphasized that the deal connects to the future of millions of farmers and that 95 percent of the population stands to gain from it.
He further criticized the opposition for focusing on minor issues that may arise in only 5 percent of cases, arguing that it is unreasonable to dismiss the entire agreement based on these concerns. “It is acceptable to tolerate a small percentage of issues when the overwhelming majority benefits,” he added.
Manjhi accused Gandhi of ignoring the 95 percent advantages of the deal while highlighting the minor drawbacks. Rahul Gandhi has been consistently vocal against the India-US deal, labeling it a betrayal of farmers.
