Ranchi, August 16: On the death anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP leaders and workers gathered at the Jharkhand Assembly complex to pay their respects. During the event, Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi referred to Vajpayee as the country’s ‘Ajatashatru,’ noting that he was respected by both the ruling and opposition parties.
Marandi emphasized that if anyone deserves credit for the formation of Jharkhand state, it is Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He stated that Vajpayee understood the long-standing demand for a separate Jharkhand and that his government paved the way for its establishment. Marandi highlighted that Vajpayee’s political life has been inspirational for the nation, fostering a tradition of unity despite differences.
BJP MLA Naveen Jaiswal remarked that Vajpayee was not only a popular politician but also a sensitive poet. He recalled how crowds would gather to hear Vajpayee speak, with people arriving on foot and by bicycle to listen to his thoughts. Jaiswal noted that while many leaders have come and gone in politics, a dedicated leader like Vajpayee is rare. He dedicated his life to connecting people.
Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das also paid tribute to Vajpayee through a social media post, stating that Vajpayee was a symbol of integrity and authenticity in Indian politics. He described him as a guiding light for workers, an eloquent speaker, a skilled administrator, and a remarkable poet.
Das concluded his tribute by saying that Vajpayee’s thoughts and principles will continue to guide future generations. The tribute event was attended by BJP organizational minister Karmveer Singh, Ranchi Mayor Roshni Khalkho, and several other leaders and workers.
