Lucknow, March 13: Young entrepreneurs in Uttar Pradesh are rapidly advancing through the ambitious ‘Chief Minister Young Entrepreneur Development Campaign’ initiated by the Yogi government. This program has become an effective initiative to empower youth economically by promoting self-reliance, innovation, and self-employment. Under this scheme, talent from Jhansi, Pratibha Dongre, has revitalized the traditional Chiteri folk art of Bundelkhand, connecting it to the market.
Pratibha shared that she holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Fine Arts. She has been associated with art since her college days. By adapting the tradition of creating images of deities on village doors and windows to jute bags and gift items, she established her enterprise. She produces jute products, including bags, gift items, towels, mementos, and medals. Previously confined to walls, this local art is now gaining recognition and revitalizing Bundelkhand’s cultural heritage.
After connecting with the Jhansi Rise Incubation Center, Pratibha learned about the ‘Chief Minister Young Entrepreneur Development Campaign.’ She benefited from this scheme by securing an interest-free loan of ₹4.5 lakh within a month. With this funding, she purchased machinery and started her venture named ‘Creative Arts.’ Today, she has expanded her business by involving 25 women. Some work directly in the unit, while others take raw materials home to work. The finished products are then sent to the market for sale.
Her jute bags and other products are now being used in schools, colleges, government offices, and corporate events. The state government’s ‘Chief Minister Young Scheme’ has not only accelerated Pratibha’s enterprise but also provided employment to 25 women, enabling them to earn substantial monthly incomes. Pratibha exemplifies the Yogi government’s commitment to ‘Self-Reliant Uttar Pradesh’ while also showcasing women’s empowerment.
