JD(U) Challenges Tejashwi Yadav: Take Action Against Non-Voting MLAs

Patna, March 18: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is celebrating after winning all five Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar. In this context, the Janata Dal (United) or JD(U) has issued a challenge to Tejashwi Yadav, the national executive president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). JD(U) claims that Yadav cannot take action against the MLA who did not vote.

JD(U) spokesperson and Legislative Council member Neeraj Kumar stated, “If you have the courage, Tejashwi Yadav should expel his MLA Faisal Rahman from the party. If he does, he will lose his position as the Leader of the Opposition. This is my challenge to him.”

During the Rajya Sabha elections, four legislators from the Grand Alliance did not cast their votes. This absence is believed to have contributed to the NDA’s success in securing all five seats. The non-voting members included RJD’s Faisal Rahman and three Congress MLAs. Consequently, there is speculation that the party may take action against these rebel legislators. However, JD(U) has challenged Tejashwi Yadav to act.

In a media interaction on Wednesday, JD(U) leader Neeraj Kumar addressed concerns about potential fractures within the party following Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s resignation. He confidently asserted that the party’s very name signifies unity. With Nitish Kumar at the helm, there is no threat of division. Kumar emphasized that Nitish will lead the party and oversee Bihar’s governance. He has also indicated that he will be in Delhi for parliamentary work and will return to Bihar afterward.

Meanwhile, Kumar made remarks about Tejashwi Yadav and Nishant Kumar, the son of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who recently entered politics. He noted that when Nishant meets his father, he greets him respectfully, and in return, his father acknowledges him with respect. This reflects their values. In contrast, Tejashwi Yadav has traveled to Kolkata while his father is constructing a house in Mahuabagh. Kumar pointed out that Nishant has often stated that their mother instilled values in them, and they take pride in their father’s name. He also mentioned that the situation on the other side is one where “the mistakes made by the parents should be forgiven.”
