
Jammu, August 9: The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga‘ campaign witnessed vibrant rallies across various regions of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. Residents participated in large numbers, showcasing their patriotism.
In Pulwama, the district administration organized a grand flag rally from the government college in Tral to the local bus stand. The event was led by Pulwama’s Deputy Commissioner Basharat Qayoom and the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tral. Thousands of students, youth, and local residents joined the rally, waving flags and chanting patriotic slogans, creating a spirited atmosphere throughout the area.
Deputy Commissioner Basharat Qayoom stated, “This year’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga‘ campaign will run from August 9 to August 17. I am pleased that we initiated the first rally in the Tral sub-division today. As you can see, a significant number of people from various areas of the sub-division have participated.”
Meanwhile, members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organized a flag-themed bike rally in Jammu, starting from the Shaheed Smarak. The rally featured prominent figures, including Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Sat Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Ghulam Ali Khatana, and Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, along with senior party leaders and activists. This bike rally, proudly displaying the national flag, conveyed a powerful message of patriotism, unity, and commitment to the nation.
In Poonch, located along the India-Pakistan Line of Control, the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign was also launched. The district’s Youth Services and Sports Department organized various sports competitions and a flag rally at the local sports stadium, attracting a large number of athletes. The event was presided over by the department’s activity head Vijay Kumar and Parvez Malik, with District Youth Services and Sports Officer Mohammad Qasim as the chief guest.
Athlete Pallavi remarked, “We were informed today that a rally is being organized for ‘Har Ghar Tiranga.’ With Independence Day approaching, this rally was held in its honor.”
District Officer Mohammad Qasim added, “Today, the district administration assigned the sports department to organize various sports activities and the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ rally.”
A grand flag rally was also held in Bandipora, where BJP workers and local residents participated with great enthusiasm and a sense of patriotism. The rally passed through key areas of Bandipora city, spreading messages of unity and national pride.
BJP State General Secretary Mohammad Anwar Khan noted, “Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government came to power, you must have noticed that our party organizes ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and flag rallies every August 15 and January 26.”
Additionally, a special yoga session was held at the Tawi Riverfront in Jammu, organized jointly by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and the World Yoga Institute. The event saw participation from Jammu’s Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar and Municipal Commissioner Devansh Yadav.
Municipal Commissioner Divyansh Yadav stated, “As our arrangements at the Tawi Riverfront are nearing completion, we are also looking to resume other activities that occur throughout the year. With Independence Day approaching, we thought it would be fitting to invite people for a yoga session. Today, we organized this session in collaboration with the yoga institute.”
