Jairam Thakur Criticizes Congress Government for Targeting BJP Leaders

Shimla, August 5: Jairam Thakur, the Leader of the Opposition in Himachal Pradesh Assembly, has criticized the Congress government for filing cases against BJP leaders. In a conversation with reporters on Tuesday, he stated that the habit of filing lawsuits out of revenge has become common among them. It is now essential to put an end to this practice. The manner in which cases are being registered against representatives is unjust. Whether or not a case is valid, public representatives are being targeted.

Thakur emphasized that no one is spared, including current and former legislators, party officials, district council members, and village heads. All of our members are being identified and cases are being filed against them. Journalists are also facing similar actions. It is crucial to clarify the role of the opposition in such a situation, especially when those working to strengthen democracy are being silenced. We will not tolerate any attempts to suppress the voices of journalists.

He mentioned that given the current circumstances in the state, the BJP has decided to stage protests. Whenever opposition leaders attempt to speak out against these actions, they face systematically filed cases.

Thakur warned that if the situation does not improve, they will escalate their protests in the coming days. He stated, “If these individuals do not change, the public will correct them.” Our party has resolved to continue raising our voices against anti-people decisions. We will not tolerate any form of unethical activities.
