Jaipur, March 20: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma chaired a high-level meeting on Friday to review the expansion plans for the Jaipur Metro.

He instructed officials to ensure that all key locations are included in the upcoming phases and to develop a comprehensive action plan based on population density.

Chief Minister Sharma emphasized the state government’s commitment to enhancing urban mobility in Jaipur through the metro network. He directed officials to prioritize connectivity in densely populated areas and ensure seamless integration of new corridors with existing metro lines.

He stated, “It is essential to develop metro projects on time while keeping future needs in mind and controlling costs.”

During the meeting, officials presented proposed routes for the metro expansion following the announcement of the budget for the detailed project report (DPR) for the extension to Jagatpura and Vaishali Nagar.

The Chief Minister instructed that a comprehensive master plan be prepared to extend the metro network to major areas, including Amer, Bagrana (Agra Road), Jagatpura, and ISBT Heerapura, considering the city’s growing population and future urban needs.

He also reviewed the proposed elevated road project from Aranya Bhawan to Jagatpura and directed the Jaipur Development Authority and Jaipur Metro Authority to work closely for the smooth implementation of the project.

The progress of ongoing metro works, including Phase-2, Phase-1C (Badi Chaupar – Transport Nagar), and Phase-1D (Mansarovar – Ajmer Road Crossing), was also reviewed. Officials provided a detailed presentation with updates on various action plans and progress.
