Israeli Foreign Minister Accuses Iran of Targeting Civilians as War Crimes

New Delhi, March 16: Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has accused Iran of deliberately targeting civilians, even during the holy month of Ramadan. He stated that such ruthless actions clearly fall under the definition of war crimes.

Sa’ar referenced a recent Iranian missile attack that injured 58 residents in Jerzeer, most of whom were ordinary citizens.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Minister Gideon wrote, “The Iranian terrorist regime is intentionally targeting civilians, whether they are Jewish or Muslim, even during the sacred month of Ramadan. All Israeli casualties so far have been ordinary citizens. This is clearly a war crime.”

The recent Iranian missile attack in Jerzeer has endangered the lives of many, according to the minister.

He further stated, “Iran launches missiles targeting citizens of all religions, even during Ramadan, towards the holy sites in Jerusalem. Meanwhile, Israel protects the lives and safety of all worshippers. There is no presence at the holy sites in Jerusalem due to security concerns. This applies to the Western Wall, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre as well.”

Sa’ar’s remarks come at a time when Israel has claimed a connection between a recent terrorist attack at a synagogue in Michigan, USA, and Hezbollah.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) asserted that intelligence indicated the attacker’s brother, Ibrahim Muhammad Ghazali, was an active member of Hezbollah.

According to the IDF, Ibrahim was killed in an Israeli Air Force strike last week. The attack on March 12 targeted a Jewish prayer gathering and was aimed at the Jewish community.

Additionally, the IDF claimed that attempts to carry out terrorist attacks within Israel have been directed by the Iranian regime’s intelligence agency.
