Dubai, July 1: Indian cricket team’s wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has ascended to the top position in the ICC T20 rankings, as announced on Wednesday. He has surpassed Abhishek Sharma, who held the number one spot for nearly a year.

Ishan Kishan’s consistent performance since his return to the T20 format has been remarkable. His impressive displays during the New Zealand T20 series and the T20 World Cup have propelled him to this prestigious ranking.

Abhishek Sharma has now dropped to second place in the T20 rankings. Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan is in third, followed by England’s Phil Salt in fourth, Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka in fifth, and India’s Tilak Varma in sixth.

England’s Jos Buttler has gained one position, moving up to seventh place. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav has slipped to eighth. Australia’s Mitchell Marsh ranks ninth, and South Africa’s Dewald Brevis rounds out the top ten in tenth place.

In the ICC Test rankings, Australia’s Travis Head has gained two spots, becoming the number one Test batsman. England’s Harry Brook is in second, while Joe Root has fallen from first to third. Australia’s Steve Smith is in fourth, and South Africa’s Temba Bavuma has moved up to fifth place.

In the One Day International (ODI) format, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell holds the top spot, while Shubman Gill has jumped three places to second. Virat Kohli has dropped one position to third, followed by Rohit Sharma in fourth and Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran in fifth, who has lost two spots.
