Tehran, June 24: Iran has clarified its stance on its nuclear facilities, stating that access to these sites will only be determined after a final agreement and concrete steps from the other party.
According to Iran’s official news agency IRNA, Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, emphasized that access to Iran’s nuclear sites, which have recently been targeted by attacks from the U.S. and Israel, will be granted solely under a final agreement and following tangible actions from the opposing side.
In a post on his social media platform ‘X’, Gharibabadi mentioned that there was no meeting with Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in Switzerland. He stated, “There is currently no plan to allow access to the sites that were attacked or to the nuclear materials present there.”
Gharibabadi further noted that decisions regarding such matters will only be made within the framework of a final agreement, which requires the other party to take practical steps. These steps include the complete lifting of sanctions and fulfilling related commitments.
He criticized attempts to create a political atmosphere through media channels, stating that the strategy of “creating noise and then shaping the situation to one’s advantage” is not viable.
Previously, some media reports, citing U.S. officials and statements from IAEA chief Rafael Grossi, suggested that an agreement had been reached to allow visits to Iran’s nuclear sites.
