Iran Issues Stark Warning: Attacks on Civilian Targets Will Lead to Devastating Response

Tehran, April 6: Iran issued a strong warning on Monday, stating that any further attacks on its civilian infrastructure would provoke a response that would be “far more devastating” and extensive.

A spokesperson from the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters emphasized, “If attacks on civilian sites are repeated, our offensive and retaliatory operations will escalate to a level that is much more destructive and widespread.”

This warning follows remarks from former U.S. President Donald Trump, who threatened to destroy Iran’s civilian infrastructure if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed.

According to a report by Xinhua News Agency, in another development, Ali Akbar Velayati, an advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, cautioned on Sunday that the Resistance Front could target the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.

Velayati stated on social media, “If the White House considers repeating its foolish mistakes, it will soon realize that the flow of global energy and trade can be disrupted with just a signal.”

He hinted at the potential closure of this critical waterway. The Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, which connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, serves as a vital shipping route between the Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and Mediterranean Sea.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Trump indicated that if Tehran does not comply with U.S. demands, large-scale attacks on Iranian infrastructure could occur.

He warned that if Iran fails to take action by the designated deadline, significant damage could be inflicted on essential assets, including power plants and bridges.

Trump stated, “If they do nothing by Tuesday evening, they will have no power plants, and they will have no bridges.”

He added that Iran could lose every power plant and other facilities across the country, highlighting the potential scale of the attacks.

These comments come amid rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial global oil route.
