New Delhi, March 12: Iran has granted permission for Indian-flagged tankers to pass through the Hormuz Strait. Congress leader Udit Raj hailed this as good news, emphasizing that our ships should not be halted.
In a conversation in New Delhi, Udit Raj stated, “This is positive news for our country. Our vessels should not be stopped as we do not support Israel or the United States. The attack on Iran’s Supreme Leader by external powers challenges the sovereignty of any nation. Indian ships should be allowed to pass, as we are neither supporters of Israel nor fighting on their behalf. It is a good thing that Iran has given this permission.”
Responding to comments made by Union Minister Giriraj Singh regarding Rahul Gandhi’s attire, Udit Raj defended Gandhi’s fashion choices. He remarked, “Rahul Gandhi dresses well when he is abroad, wearing suits and formal attire. Look at the leaders from strictly religious countries; they also dress in formal suits when representing their nations. Everyone has a personal life, and what they wear privately is their own business. It is unreasonable to comment on someone’s clothing.”
Udit Raj also addressed the rejection of the no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. He noted that the charges against Birla were not adequately explained. “In democracy, sometimes the majority prevails. They passed it, but the charges remain,” he added.
The opposition had brought forth a no-confidence motion against the Lok Sabha Speaker, which has now been dismissed.
