IPL 2026: Abhishek Sharmas Explosive Century Powers SRH to 242 Against DC

Hyderabad, April 21: In the 31st match of IPL 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced off against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Tuesday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. SRH batted first, scoring an impressive 242 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

After losing the toss, SRH opened their innings with a blazing start from Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. The duo put together a remarkable partnership, amassing 97 runs for the first wicket in just 8.5 overs. Head scored 37 runs off 26 balls, hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 142. Following his dismissal, captain Ishan Kishan joined Abhishek at the crease.

Together, Abhishek and Ishan added 79 runs for the second wicket in a mere 35 balls. Ishan contributed 25 runs off 13 balls, including 2 fours and a six, before being run out. Abhishek, however, continued to dominate the bowling attack, completing his century in a whirlwind fashion off just 47 balls.

Abhishek’s outstanding innings saw him finish with an unbeaten 135 runs off 68 balls, boasting a strike rate of 198. His innings included 10 fours and 10 sixes. Additionally, Heinrich Klaasen chipped in with a quickfire 37 runs off just 13 balls, forming a solid partnership of 66 runs for the third wicket with Abhishek in just 32 balls. The only wicket for DC was taken by Axar Patel.

Under the captaincy of Axar Patel, Delhi Capitals fielded a lineup featuring Pathum Nissanka, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Sameer Rizvi, Nitish Rana, Tristan Stubbs, David Miller, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, T. Natarajan, and Lungi Ngidi.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, led by Ishan Kishan, included Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, Salil Arora (wicketkeeper), Aniket Verma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shivang Kumar, Harsh Dubey, Saqib Hussain, and Ishan Malinga in their squad.
