
Hobart, February 27: The Indian women’s cricket team is facing Australia in the second ODI at Ninja Stadium. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to bat first.
After losing the first match of the three-match series, the Indian team aims to set a substantial score to put pressure on Australia in the second innings.
In the previous ODI, Pratika Rawal did not score, while Shafali Verma managed only 4 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues also contributed just 8 runs. These three batswomen must perform significantly in this match for India to post a competitive total. Additionally, big innings are expected from Smriti Mandhana, who scored a half-century last match, and captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
Australia, leading the series 1-0, will strive to win this match and secure the series.
Making her ODI debut for India is 20-year-old left-arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma.
In the first ODI held in Brisbane, India faced defeat after scoring 214 runs. Australia chased down the target, scoring 217 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in just 38.2 overs, winning by 6 wickets.
