New Delhi, March 12: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced on Thursday that significant steps have been taken to enhance railway connectivity in Madhya Pradesh’s Ashoknagar and Kolars.
The Union Minister stated that the Ministry of Railways has approved stops for the Sogariya-Danapur Express in Ashoknagar and the Ujjaini Express in Kolars. Both railway stations fall within the Guna Lok Sabha constituency, represented by Scindia, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Scindia emphasized that the new stops will provide passengers in the region with improved connectivity to various parts of the country.
In a statement, he said, “This essential development will make travel easier and more convenient for passengers in this area. It will benefit daily commuters, students, and traders, while also boosting regional transportation and economic activities.”
This approval came at the recommendation of Scindia, who highlighted the need for these train stops in a letter to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on February 26, 2026.
Acting promptly on this letter, the Ministry of Railways granted approval for both stops on Thursday, providing local residents with direct and enhanced railway services.
Expressing gratitude to Minister Vaishnaw for this significant gift, Scindia remarked that the convenience of the people is paramount for the BJP government, and all ministries are working collaboratively.
Scindia also took to social media platform ‘X’ to announce, “Now, the people of Ashoknagar and Kolars will have easy connectivity. I sincerely thank Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for this gift to the residents. This decision will greatly benefit local travelers.”
Additionally, Scindia is set to embark on a four-day tour of Gwalior and Guna starting Thursday, where he will participate in several events and engage with local residents.
