Indian Players Shine at WPC Series in Penang with 4 Golds, 3 Silvers, and 2 Bronzes

Penang, April 21: The All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) team delivered an impressive performance at the WPC Series held in Penang, Malaysia. The team showcased India’s growing strength in international pickleball by winning multiple medals across various categories.

In the Men’s Doubles 19+ Open category, Mayur Patil and Vanshik Kapadia clinched the gold medal, demonstrating excellent teamwork and skill. Kuldeep Mahajan partnered with Nicholas Maleganias to secure a bronze medal.

Vanshik Kapadia also earned a gold medal in the Men’s Singles 19+ Open category, while Kuldeep Mahajan added another bronze to his record.

Continuing their winning streak, Vrishali Thakre and Vanshik Kapadia won the gold medal in the Mixed Doubles 19+ Open, while Alayka Ibrahim and Willy Chung achieved a silver medal after a commendable performance.

In the Women’s Doubles 19+ Advanced Plus category, Alayka Ibrahim teamed up with Ariyana Muraleedharan to win a silver medal. She also excelled in the Women’s Singles 19+ Advanced Plus, securing a gold medal and marking a significant personal achievement.

Commenting on this remarkable success, AIPA President Arvind Prabhu stated, “Our players have once again demonstrated their dedication, resilience, and world-class talent on the international stage. The performance at the WPC Series in Penang reflects the rapid growth of pickleball in India and our athletes’ commitment to performing at a global level. We take pride in every player who represented India and brought honor to our country.”

The results from Penang highlight India’s increasing significance in the global pickleball landscape and underscore AIPA’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talent and expanding the sport’s reach.

Last month, AIPA players also excelled at the WPC Asia Pickleball Open, where they secured 2 golds and 1 silver medal during the international tournament held from March 11 to 16 in Bangkok, Thailand. In the Men’s Doubles 19+ Open, the duo of Mayur Patil and Vanshik Kapadia won gold, while Alayka Ibrahim teamed with Agnimitra Bhavatosh Bhattacharya to bring home another gold for AIPA in the Women’s Doubles 19+ Open.
