Nagoya, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya spearheaded the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ campaign in Nagoya, Japan, on September 20, 2026. This initiative aims to promote public health and encourage a sustainable, active lifestyle among residents. During the event, he extended his best wishes to Indian athletes participating in the Asian Games.

Mandaviya highlighted that the Asian Games commenced today in Nagoya, with a delegation of 503 young athletes from India in attendance. To show support and boost morale, the Indian community organized the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ event. “I am pleased that our team is performing well, and our Indian community is rallying behind them,” he stated.

He emphasized the importance of the Indian diaspora, saying, “Our citizens abroad are our strength. Whenever our people need assistance, our expatriates stand by them. In Nagoya, the Indian community has made all necessary arrangements to support our athletes, with many young volunteers offering their services. This is the true identity of India.”

I am delighted that Minister Mandaviya initiated this fantastic campaign. It was great to see everyone come together, including the expatriate Indians,” she remarked.

After meeting with Japanese athletes, Malik noted, “I met some athletes today and hope to meet more. I am thrilled that the women’s cricket team has performed well, and I want them to reach the finals—I hope to be there to witness it.”
