
New Delhi, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has opened applications for 365 job vacancies, presenting an exciting opportunity for those seeking a career in this prominent maritime armed force. The positions include various roles such as sailors (General Duty) and mechanics.
The recruitment drive seeks to fill 234 posts for male sailors (General Duty), 26 for female sailors, 28 mechanical positions, 23 electrical roles, 9 for electronics, 25 in the domestic branch, and 20 for Hygienist-I.
The application process commenced on October 6 at 11 AM and will remain open until October 21. Interested candidates can register online on the official ICG website until 5:30 PM on the final day.
Eligibility criteria specify that candidates for the sailor (General Duty) position must have completed 12th grade with mathematics and physics from a recognized board, while those applying for the domestic branch need to have completed 10th grade. For Hygienist-I, candidates should have completed matriculation or possess an equivalent qualification. Mechanical applicants must have completed 10th grade and hold a 3 or 4-year diploma in electrical, mechanical, electronics, or telecommunication engineering, or a 2 or 3-year diploma alongside 10th and 12th grade qualifications.
Applicants must pay an online application fee of ₹500, although candidates from SC/ST categories are exempt from this fee.
Selection will be based on a computer-based examination (CBE), basic identification and biometric verification, physical fitness tests (PFT), evaluation and adaptability tests, document verification, and medical examinations. Successful candidates can expect monthly salaries ranging from ₹21,700 for most positions to ₹29,200 for mechanical roles, along with additional benefits and allowances.
