India Rejects Pakistans Claims of Involvement in Afghanistan-Pakistan Border Conflict

New Delhi, March 12: India has strongly criticized Pakistan’s assertion that India is involved in the ongoing conflict along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border (Durand Line). The Indian government stated that Pakistan lacks credibility regarding cross-border terrorism, as it has been a supporter of terrorism for decades.

The spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Randhir Jaiswal, labeled Pakistan’s allegations as completely baseless. He noted that it has become common for Pakistan to blame India for its own mistakes.

“We completely reject these false accusations. It has become a habit for Pakistan to blame India for its errors. No one is deceived by their fabricated stories anymore,” he stated.

The recent conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan escalated after Afghan forces retaliated against Pakistani military positions on February 27, following a Pakistani military operation in Afghan territory on February 21.

In response, Pakistan launched a military operation named ‘Operation Gajab Lil-Haq’, claiming it was a counter to unprovoked fire from Afghan forces.

Earlier this week, India condemned Pakistan’s airstrikes on Afghanistan, stating that conducting such attacks during the holy month of Ramadan while advocating for Islamic unity is hypocritical.

India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, P. Harish, remarked at the UN Security Council, “It is hypocritical to speak of international law and the lofty principles of Islamic unity while ruthlessly conducting airstrikes during the sacred month of Ramadan.” He added, “As of March 6, 2026, these attacks have resulted in the deaths of 185 innocent people, nearly 55 percent of whom are women and children.”

Harish emphasized that India condemns the airstrikes in Afghan territory, which openly violate international law, the UN Charter, and the principles of national sovereignty.

While speaking at a briefing on Afghanistan at the Council, Harish did not mention Pakistan by name, but his diplomatic remarks clearly indicated the target of his criticism.

Pakistan has claimed that it is attacking Afghanistan because it allows terrorists to operate from its territory. However, Harish pointed out that it is Islamabad that is using terrorist groups as proxies to attack its neighbors.
