India Maintains Stable Fuel Prices Amid Global Crisis: Pradeep Bhandari

New Delhi, March 14: Pradeep Bhandari, a national spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stated that petrol prices in India remain stable at ₹94.77 per liter. This is in stark contrast to significant price hikes in many major economies worldwide.

Bhandari shared his insights on the social media platform ‘X’, highlighting India’s success in maintaining fuel price stability despite severe fluctuations in global markets.

He remarked, “India is the only G20 nation where petrol prices have not changed since February, despite the global energy crisis.”

Targeting the opposition, the BJP spokesperson accused the Congress party and its leaders of failing to recognize the government’s effective handling of the current economic situation.

He added, “This is what unsettles Rahul Gandhi. The Congress party and Rahul cannot accept that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is managing the global energy crisis with minimal impact on the common man.”

Bhandari also shared a comparative table referencing media reports that illustrated the rise in petrol prices across various G20 nations. According to the data, during the same period, petrol prices surged by 22% in the United States, 11% in China, 15% in Germany, and nearly 8% in Japan.

The global energy market has faced immense pressure due to escalating tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran. This crisis intensified following joint attacks by the US and Israel on Iranian sites on February 28, which resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. This conflict has severely impacted global oil markets, leading to one of the most significant supply disruptions in recent decades.

Additionally, precautionary measures have affected production and exports in several regional oil-producing countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, and Kuwait.
