New Delhi, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : Congress MP Imran Masood recently praised Indian pilot Captain Smit Machhar for his courageous efforts to save passengers during a flight emergency. He emphasized that this incident transcends politics, focusing instead on the essence of humanity.
Masood noted that anyone who acts to protect human life deserves recognition. Despite suffering injuries while managing the aircraft, Captain Machhar’s quick thinking helped avert potential tragedy. Masood expressed pride in such bravery, stating it should be honored.
When questioned about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former U.S. President Donald Trump labeling the pilot a “hero,” Masood reiterated his view from a humanitarian perspective. He raised concerns about the innocence of individuals caught in crises, underscoring the significance of safeguarding human life.
Addressing comments made by RSS spokesperson Sunil Ambecker regarding the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC), Masood questioned who would issue citizenship certificates. He sarcastically suggested that the RSS might as well set up an office to distribute these certificates.
On the proposed actions by the opposition against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the recent India Bloc meeting, Masood stated that the opposition would take to the streets. He affirmed support for Rahul Gandhi‘s ongoing campaign, which aims to engage with citizens on various issues.
Responding to allegations from BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan that Congress is colluding with foreign powers to undermine Indian democracy, Masood countered that the government should address concerns regarding democratic institutions. He stressed the importance of upholding democratic values.
Regarding Mamata Banerjee’s silence on Rahul Gandhi’s potential candidacy for Prime Minister, Masood remarked that there is unease among opposition parties about Gandhi’s leadership. He clarified that his conflict is not with Banerjee but rather with differing political issues and forces.
On Baba Ramdev’s claim that all Muslims in India are converts and that their ancestors were Ram and Krishna, Masood dismissed such statements as irrelevant to current issues, asserting they hold little significance.
When asked about Congress’s alliance with the Samajwadi Party and the demand for nearly 150 seats in Uttar Pradesh, Masood aligned his views with those of the party and its state in-charge. He confirmed his commitment to the party’s decisions and made it clear that he would not express personal opinions on seat distribution.
