Muzaffarpur, March 2: The festival of colors, Holi, is generating significant excitement among the people. Markets are bustling with activity as shops are adorned with vibrant colors, powders, and water guns. The atmosphere in Muzaffarpur is lively in anticipation of the celebrations.
However, the much sought-after ‘Modi Mask’ has been reported out of stock in the market for the past ten days.
Shopkeepers at the renowned Chhatta Market’s color and water gun wholesale hub have indicated that the heavy demand has led to the depletion of ‘Modi Masks.’ According to traders, they attempted to reorder but were informed by suppliers in Delhi that they also lack sufficient stock.
In conversations with shopkeepers, it was noted that this year there is a higher demand for tank water guns, high-pressure guns, and rechargeable electric water guns instead of traditional options. The modern designs and increased pressure of these guns are particularly appealing to children and young adults.
Shopkeeper Amit Kumar shared, “This year, we have a great range. High-pressure guns, tankers, and electric guns are selling well. Various types of masks have arrived, but the demand for ‘Modi Masks’ has been exceptional, and they are currently unavailable.”
Another trader, Irshad Ahmed, mentioned that besides toys and pump water guns, unique items have also been introduced this year. However, the demand for ‘Modi Masks’ was so high that stock ran out about ten days before Holi.
Shopkeeper Mantu stated that a shipment of ‘Modi Masks’ arrived four days ago, but it sold out immediately. Currently, their store has gulal, water guns, electric guns, and electric tanks available. According to him, electric water guns are trending this year.
