Thiruvananthapuram, July 10: On the occasion of World Population Day, HLL LifeCare Limited, a public sector company under the central government, announced on Friday that it will not only focus on population control but also prioritize improving overall health. The company will continue to play a significant role in the nation’s family planning program.
HLL, recognized as a Mini Ratna company under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, stated that its primary focus will now include preventive health services, affordable medical facilities, and the promotion of new health technologies, particularly aimed at enhancing the health of women and youth.
The company emphasized that World Population Day 2026 serves as a reminder of the necessity to invest in the health of people, especially the youth, to create a healthier society. HLL will continue to develop affordable, high-quality health services and products accessible to all.
HLL has been actively involved in family planning programs for a long time and has significantly expanded its range of health services. The company now produces a variety of products including condoms, contraceptive pills, emergency contraceptive pills, pregnancy test kits, Copper-T (IUDs), and several maternal health-related products.
In addition, the company has developed an environmentally friendly sanitary pad called ‘HappyDaze Earth,’ which is easily biodegradable and helps reduce plastic waste and microplastics. This new product complies with BIS-2025 standards.
HLL has not limited itself to just manufacturing products; it also provides affordable health services across the country through Emerit Pharmacy and HindLabs. Emerit Pharmacy offers life-saving medicines, medical equipment, and other essential items at discounts of up to 50%. Meanwhile, HindLabs provides testing services at prices 30% to 60% lower than market rates.
The company has recently launched new services such as Emerit Plus Pharmacy, Specialty HindLabs, and HLL Home Healthcare Services. These services include genetic testing, modern diagnostic tests, nursing, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, treatment for chronic diseases, elderly care, and tele-consultation with doctors, all delivered to people’s homes.
HLL aims to evolve from being solely a family planning organization to a robust entity that strengthens the country’s public health services, ensuring better and more accessible health services for everyone.
