Hezbollah Claims Rocket Attack on Rafael Defense Facility in Northern Israel

Beirut, March 15: The armed group Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for a rocket barrage targeting a military industrial complex in northern Israel. According to the organization, the attack was aimed at the Rafael Advanced Defense Systems facility, which it described as an action taken to protect Lebanon and its people.

Currently, there has been no comment from Israeli officials regarding Hezbollah’s claim. Earlier on the same day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported conducting a series of strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure in Lebanon.

Hezbollah also asserted that it launched drone and missile attacks on several Israeli positions, amid escalating regional tensions following U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran. In various statements, the group indicated that these attacks were in retaliation for Israeli aggression, targeting numerous cities and towns across Lebanon, including southern suburbs of Beirut.

The organization stated that it unleashed rockets on the Israeli settlement of Nahariya and a missile defense system located in the Ma’alot-Tarshiha area. Additionally, Hezbollah claimed its fighters targeted Israeli positions near the town of Jabiyah, located across the Lebanese border, and the Hadbat al-Ajl site north of the Kafr Yuval settlement.

Hezbollah also reported heavy rocket fire aimed at Israeli troops gathered in the outskirts of the southern Lebanese town of Adaisseh, as well as at Avivim barracks. Furthermore, the Rafael Military Industries Complex in northern Israel’s Kiryat area was also struck.

The group claimed to have executed a drone attack on Israeli military vehicles near Adaisseh and targeted the Palamachim Airport, situated approximately 140 kilometers south of Tel Aviv.

Tensions have surged since February 28, when Israel and the U.S. launched joint strikes against Iran, resulting in nearly 1,200 fatalities, including the then-supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Iran conducted drone and missile strikes against Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting U.S. military bases.

This conflict has also spilled over into Lebanon. The Israeli military has intensified its attacks, leading to over 800 deaths and more than 2,000 injuries since March 2, while clashes with Hezbollah continue across the border.
