
Sonepat, March 3: Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated on Tuesday that the recently presented budget caters to all segments of society. The budget emphasizes the needs of women, youth, farmers, and the underprivileged. He expressed confidence that Haryana will advance rapidly in the coming times. This budget aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a developed India.
Saini noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently mentioned that many Indians travel abroad for weddings. He emphasized the need for local wedding venues to offer such facilities that would eliminate the necessity for people to go abroad. Saini announced plans to establish three wedding destinations near Pijour, Kharkhoda, and Manesar, aiming to attract international weddings and retain local clientele.
On Monday, Chief Minister Saini presented a budget of ₹2.23 lakh crore for the fiscal year 2026-27. This budget particularly focuses on strengthening the rural economy. During the presentation, he also announced the creation of a new electricity distribution company named ‘Haryana Agri Discom’, specifically designed to meet the needs of the farming community.
As the finance minister, Saini projected a fiscal deficit of ₹40,293.17 crore, which is estimated to be 2.65% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). He indicated that the revenue deficit is expected to be 0.87% of GDP, while the effective revenue deficit is projected at 0.41%. Capital expenditure is anticipated to be 1.86% of GDP, with effective capital expenditure at 2.32%.
