Haryana Chief Minister Labels Punjabs AAP Government as Gang of Looters

Chandigarh, June 13: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini accused the Punjab government led by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of corruption on Saturday. He referred to the government as a “gang of looters” and claimed its tenure is nearing an end.

Highlighting the significant victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Abohar municipal elections, he stated that this outcome signals a political shift in Punjab. He expressed confidence that the BJP will form the next government in the state.

Saini noted the severe impact of drug issues on Punjab and assured that once the BJP is in power, no one involved in the drug trade will be spared or allowed to operate.

The Chief Minister was addressing a conference for Other Backward Classes (OBC) in Abohar. He paid tribute to Punjab’s brave and patriotic heritage, commending the contributions of farmers, traders, youth, and mothers in nation-building.

He harshly criticized the state government’s ‘war on drugs’ initiative, labeling it a complete failure. Saini alleged that the AAP government is more interested in slogans and publicity than delivering tangible results.

Targeting the Punjab government on multiple fronts, he claimed that the promise to provide women with ₹1,000 monthly has proven to be merely a political tactic, as the registration process for this scheme has yet to commence.

He accused the government of neglecting Abohar politically, stating that allocating only ₹5 crore to the municipal corporation is an insult to the city’s residents.

Saini remarked that the AAP has realized it will not return to power after the next assembly elections, leading some individuals to exploit Punjab for personal gain.

He added that the Haryana government has created 55,000 jobs for the youth within just one year.

The Chief Minister also highlighted that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has granted constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes, calling it a historic step that strengthens the rights and institutional standing of the OBC community.

He mentioned the provision for 27% reservation for OBCs in medical and higher education, stating that this decision has significantly increased educational opportunities. Consequently, the number of OBC students in universities, engineering institutes, and medical colleges across the country has been steadily rising.
