
New Delhi, April 24: A late-night shooting in the Karol Bagh area of Central Delhi caused panic on Friday. One individual sustained gunshot wounds and has been admitted to a hospital. Delhi police officials have confirmed the incident.
Authorities reported that the shooting occurred around 2:30 AM near Kalka Das Chowk on Faiz Road in Karol Bagh. The victim was identified as Rohit, a resident of Thana Singh Nagar in Anand Parvat, who was taken to Lady Harding Medical College and Hospital.
Police received a call regarding the injured individual at 3:55 AM. During initial inquiries, officials established that the incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Karol Bagh police station. The victim remains under medical supervision and has provided preliminary information about the suspects. Police have indicated that a case of attempted murder is being registered, and further investigations are underway.
A comprehensive investigation has been launched, given the area’s proximity to heavily secured regions of Central Delhi. Forensic teams are also examining the scene. They discovered several empty shell casings at the site.
According to Delhi police officials, the forensic team inspected the location and recovered two empty cartridges and one live round, indicating that three shots were fired.
