Ahmedabad, August 6: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the Travel and Trade Fair at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar on Thursday. The event, running from August 6 to 8, was launched in the inspiring presence of Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi.
This fair, held in Gujarat for two decades, plays a vital role in boosting the state’s tourism ecosystem through a B2B travel trade exhibition. It serves as a platform to promote tourist destinations, enhance business collaboration, and connect stakeholders in the tourism sector.
The state government has declared 2026 as the Year of Tourism. This fair aims to effectively showcase the state’s tourist attractions and development potential to a global audience. The 2026 edition of the Travel and Trade Fair features over 900 exhibitors and tourism departments from various states.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of enhancing tourism activities in the country and promoting the idea of “One India, Great India” is embodied in this event.
During the inauguration, Goa’s Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte and Uttarakhand’s Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj were also present. The Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and other dignitaries toured the exhibition, inspecting stalls from various states, including Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Goa. They engaged with stall operators to gather information on tourism promotion schemes and other significant details.
