Valsad, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : The Valsad district local crime branch of Gujarat police has made significant strides in solving multiple daylight burglary attempts in Vapi’s residential areas. On Sunday, authorities announced the identification of two habitual offenders from Pune involved in these crimes.
The investigation began after a burglary reported on May 29 at the Rishiraj Complex in Balitha. Thieves had forcibly entered a flat, breaking locks to steal gold jewelry and cash totaling ₹2.4 lakh. Similar incidents occurred in another flat within the same complex and in two flats on Mahalaxmi Avenue, bringing the total value of stolen cash and jewelry to ₹4.75 lakh.
Additionally, police discovered attempts to break into approximately four flats at the Gahana Apartment in Vapi. A case has been registered under sections 305(A) and 331(3) of the Indian Penal Code at the Vapi GIDC police station.
Investigators reviewed CCTV footage from crime scenes and surrounding areas, revealing that the suspects used a red Pulsar motorcycle. Over 200 CCTV recordings from the Vapi-Mumbai route were analyzed, leading to the identification of two suspects.
The suspects were identified as 19-year-old Yash, also known as Gathya Deshmukh, from Pimpri, and 21-year-old Dhananjay, known as Dhaniya or DK Kale, from Pimple Gurav in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Police reported that both were previously arrested by Maharashtra police on June 30 in connection with a case registered at the Kothrud police station.
Following their arrest, Valsad police took custody of the two suspects related to the Vapi GIDC case and charged them with burglary. Police records indicate that both individuals have extensive criminal histories, with cases filed against them in Pune, Satara, Sangli, Osmanabad, Latur, Mahad, and other regions of Maharashtra. Their offenses include theft, burglary, robbery, and various violations under the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act, and Maharashtra Police Act.
