Gujarat ATS Arrests International Drug Lord Salim Ismail Dola After Deportation from Turkey

Gujarat ATS has arrested Salim Ismail Dola, an international drug lord, deported from Turkey, linked to a major drug manufacturing operation.

Ahmedabad, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has made a significant breakthrough by arresting Salim Ismail Dola, a notorious international drug trafficker, in Ahmedabad. Dola was deported from Turkey and brought back to India by the agency.

Dola is identified as the mastermind behind a factory in Sindharot, Vadodara, that produces MD drugs. This factory was raided earlier, leading to the seizure of 87.728 kilograms of MD drugs.

He was wanted in connection with an ongoing case and had a Red Corner Notice issued against him. Previously, ten accomplices had already been arrested in this case. Dola has a history of involvement in eight narcotics cases across the country.

In December 2022, the Gujarat ATS conducted a raid in Sindharot village near Vadodara, seizing drugs valued at approximately ₹438 crore. The investigation, led by BH Korat, resulted in the arrest of ten suspects, all of whom remain in custody.

Dola’s name surfaced during the investigation, revealing his prior arrests in fentanyl-related cases. A Red Corner Notice was issued during the inquiry, allowing for his arrest in any country he might travel to.

With assistance from various Indian agencies, Dola was tracked down in Turkey, where he was deported back to India by the Turkish government.

In the Sindharot case, Dola supplied the chemicals necessary for drug manufacturing and was also responsible for the distribution of the finished products. Currently, the ATS is interrogating him, and further details will emerge as the investigation progresses.
