Udhampur, August 5: On the seventh anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, a grand tricolor rally was held in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. The event aimed to promote patriotism and national unity, featuring enthusiastic participation from youth and students who carried a 200-meter-long national flag.
The rally commenced from Ramnagar Chowk, traversing various routes in the city before concluding at Saletla. Participants expressed their commitment to the unity and integrity of the nation, as well as their dedication to the Constitution.
Kulwinder Singh, a participant, noted that the Indian government implemented the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act on August 5, 2019. Prior to this, Jammu and Kashmir enjoyed special status under Article 370, which included a separate constitution and flag. Following the abrogation, the Indian Constitution was fully applied in the region, and the national flag was uniformly adopted. The rally commemorated this historic decision with the impressive display of the tricolor.
Another young participant emphasized that the youth of Udhampur united to celebrate the removal of Article 370. He remarked that the region previously had a distinct constitution, but the constitutional changes have led to a uniform constitution across the country. He claimed that since the abrogation, incidents of terrorism and stone-pelting have decreased, particularly in the Srinagar area, leading to a significantly improved situation.
Another attendee shared that previously, residents of Jammu and Kashmir were viewed differently when visiting other states due to their unique constitution and flag. With the removal of Article 370, the entire country is now united under one constitution and one national flag, fostering a sense of pride and confidence among the youth. The rally, showcasing the 200-meter-long tricolor, symbolizes the youth’s dedication to the nation and national unity. Such events strengthen the spirit of patriotism among the younger generation.
Participants conveyed a message to the youth, urging every citizen to prioritize their duties towards India. They emphasized that respecting the nation’s unity, integrity, and Constitution is the responsibility of every citizen, and the younger generation should carry this sentiment forward.
